Diane Latiker Inspires Chicago Youth to Rise Above Violence
A Lifeline in the Midst of Struggle
In neighborhoods across Chicago, where poverty and gun violence have long cast a shadow over the lives of young people, many children grow up believing that their future is already decided. This sense of hopelessness is something Diane Latiker has fought against for over fifteen years. Her journey began when she opened her home to neighborhood children, offering them a place of safety, support, and guidance. The organization is now expanding beyond its original location, with plans to build a computer lab, music studio, and clothing design space. These new facilities will provide youth with the tools they need to develop long-term career skills and break the cycle of poverty.
